Are fascias and soffits the same thing?

No. Fascias are the boards along the roof edge, usually behind the gutters. Soffits are the panels underneath the overhang. Knowing the difference helps when explaining which areas need attention.

Can I tell whether my gutters need clearing from ground level?

You may spot overflowing water or growth above the edge, but a tidy-looking outside does not tell you what is inside. An inspection is useful if you are unsure.

From an inspection to a wider clean

What David did

Cleaned the gutters inside and out.
Washed the fascias and soffits.
Cleaned the windows.
Used a full chemical treatment with a water-fed pole and soft brush.
Hand scrubbed the awkward areas the brush could not reach.

The finished result

The broad white boards across the front now look much more even in colour. The heavy dark surface dirt beneath the projecting roof has been lifted, so the edges and panel lines stand out clearly again.

The finished job gave the house better kerb appeal. It is the sort of improvement that can also help a home look well presented in property listing images.
